The Gen II Motorized Traversing Unit (G2MTU) was designed and developed as a field and production replacement for the current Battery Powered Motorized Traversing Unit (BPMTU) system. The new design allows for greater rotational speed, smoother operation and the ability to handle increased weights of today’s Gunner Protection Kits (GPKs) with overhead cover. This design utilizes a true pinion and gear system that provides increased reliability and better performance over the original design.
