Thermography
Uncooled infrared (IR) camera cores, manufactured by BAE Systems, are used in original equipment manufactured-IR cameras, targeted for the plant predictive and preventive maintenance, research and development, and process monitoring and control markets.
IR cameras provide the end user with a non-contact means of studying the thermal properties of components while under mechanical and/or electrical load.
For instance, maintenance professionals can view the thermal characteristics of electrical components, pumps, and motors while the item is under load with no disruption to the downstream process. Research and development engineers can study the thermal characteristics of a target under the intended operating conditions. For process monitoring and/or control, IR cameras provide a non-contact means of monitoring thermal properties critical to the process.
