BAE Systems to remain a trusted defence and aerospace partner of Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - BAE Systems, the premier global defence, security and aerospace company, continues with its commitment and support to the Malaysian defence industry, by participating at the 10th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) to be held between 1 and 5 December 2009.
With LIMA hailed as a key showcase for the maritime and aerospace industries, BAE Systems looks to further cement its ties and support to the nation's defence future by displaying modern naval and air capabilities at the exhibition.
"LIMA has always been an important part of our calendar and we have participated in each of the ten shows. It not only provides an excellent stimulus for BAE Systems to forge stronger bonds with the Malaysian government but is also an excellent platform for us to exhibit our capabilities that range from communications, electronic warfare systems, military air support, air defence, mission support systems to intelligence and surveillance," said Alan Garwood, the Group Business Development Director of BAE Systems.
Visitors to LIMA will have the opportunity to see BAE Systems' premier services and products, including replicas of naval guns, unmanned autonomous air systems, the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer and an offshore patrol vessel, as well as gain an insight into its systems integration capabilities.
Offering far more than just defence and aerospace products, BAE Systems is also known for its leading security products and services and is rapidly becoming the single-source provider of security solutions for a vast, global market.
"The growing risks in today's world call for products that help protect the lives of citizens, law-enforcement officers and military personnel. As a recognised leader in integrated protective solutions, we look forward for an opportunity to assist and forge a partnership with the Malaysian government to fully support them in protecting the nation and its people," said Chris Nunn, the Regional Vice President of Asia Pacific for BAE Systems.
